Ronald Rayburn “Pirate” Spence, of Amarillo, died Oct. 13, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 am, at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Amarillo.

Ronald was born Feb. 9, 1951, in Plainview, to Rayburn and Ollie Mae Spence. He married the love of his life, Mary Lancaster, in 1971, and, together, they had two children. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed tinkering around the shop. Some of his hobbies included building airplanes, working on cars, playing the lottery, but most of all, being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Troy Slape and Philip Spence.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Haley Fatheree and husband Jody of Amarillo, and Jeremy Spence and wife Christie of Canadian; and grandchildren, Mackenzi Cuellar, Race Fatheree, and Madelyne, Campbell, and Ella Spence.
