Diego Hernandez, 22, of Booker, Texas passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 in Amarillo, Texas. A guestbook will be available to sign at 10 am, Friday, June 5, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A rosary will be held Friday, June 5, at 7 pm, and a vigil will be held at 7:30 pm, both at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Booker. Mass will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Booker, officiated by Father Victor Andrade. Interment of cremains will follow in Booker’s Heart Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton.

Diego was born on October 28, 2003 in Perryton to Jose Luis Hernandez and Sara Leticia Zapien. He was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Cathedral in Amarillo, and he attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Booker. He graduated high school from Booker High School in 2022, and he loved being around his family.

Diego is survived by his parents; two sisters, Daniela Robledo and husband Ruben of Amarillo, and Natalia Guerrero and husband Rogelio of Canadian; one brother, Jose Hernandez and wife Magaly of Dumas; one niece, Mia Robledo of Amarillo; and six nephews, Noah Guerrero, A.J. Guerrero, Kristian Guerrero, and Rey Guerrero, all of Canadian, and Kayden Robledo and Isaac Robledo, both of Amarillo; and his beloved dog Ivy.
