Jonell Doyal, 89, of Higgins, died June 4, 2019, at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Graveside inurnment services will be held at Higgins Cemetery on Saturday, July 20, at 10 am, with Reverend Terry Hovey, of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Jonell was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Whiteland, to Roy Virgil and Hazel Mae Brock. She received her education in Brady. She married Alfred C. “A.C.” Doyal on Nov. 14, 1947. She was committed to her family and her dogs. Jonell started babysitting in 1978 when her last child went off to college. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, and she was very creative in her quilting and cross-stitching. She will be loved and missed by many other family members and friends. The family would like to thank the Higgins EMTs, the congregation of Higgins First United Methodist Church, and many special people of the Higgins and Shattuck communities.

In addition to her parents, Jonell was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Doyal; a son, Clay Doyal; sisters, Louise and Shirley; and brothers, Glenn and James.

Jonell is survived by her children, Jimmey Doyal and wife Linda of Topeka, Kansas, Nancy Meason and husband Gene of Austin, and Delma Doyal (daughter-in-law, wife of Clay Doyal) of Floresville; grandchildren, Scott Doyal and wife Carrie of Topeka, Kansas, Amber Withers and husband John of Gonzales, Lance Doyal and wife Jamie of Topeka, Kansas, Cody Doyal and wife Chelsea of Rosenberg, Brock Pointer and wife Payten of Malakoff, and Chance Doyal of Round Rock; two step-grandsons, Brad Meason of Amarillo, and Brent Meason of San Antonio; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Walker, Wyatt, Miles, Joni, and Audrey.
