Clois Gene Beaty, 78, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died July 9, 2019. Celebration of Life services were held Aug. 9, at the BattleCreek Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Clois was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Canadian, to Lamond and Imogene (Welch) Beaty. Clois completed the first 12 years of his education in Canadian. He played Little League baseball, and basketball and football in junior high and high school. After graduating from high school in 1959, he attended Texas A&M University one year and then transferred to Texas Tech University, which was much closer to Amarillo where his high school sweetheart, Lonita Streeter, was attending school. Clois and Lonita married on Sept. 4, 1960. Clois worked for the gas company in Canadian for a year, and then he and Lonita moved to Lubbock where they both worked. Clois continued his education, graduating with an industrial engineering degree from Texas Tech University in 1965. Following graduation, Clois joined the Oklahoma Natural Gas team, serving them in Enid, Tulsa, and Muskogee, prior to retiring in 2001. It would be very hard to find someone more dedicated to his work than he was. Clois was a proud husband and father who spoke highly of his family and grandchildren. Clois was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and his father-in-law and mother- in-law. Survivors include his wife, Lonita; two daughters, Trish Hamilton (Bob) of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Sheri Haye (Ron) of Hannibal, Missouri; grandchildren, Mandi Shields (Jonathan), James Hamilton (fiancée Vanessa Cottman), Mark and Meagan Hamilton, Lauran and Brooklyn Haye and Lian Yan; great-grandchildren, Calvin, Elizabeth, and Ezekiel Shields; an aunt and uncle; sisters-in-law, Noveta Stephenson (Delane) of Canadian, and Nadean Morris (Floyd) of Pampa; several nephews and nieces; special cousins; and many friends.
