Agnes Brumfield, 101, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Pampa. Services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 17, at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Director and Crematory.

Agnes was born April 30, 1922 in Zybach, Texas to John and Clara Forrest. She grew up on the farm and learned how to do chores and tend to the milk cows at an early age. She graduated from Canadian High School. Soon after high school, she met and married Bryant Flowers. They lived in Roberts County for 24 years. Agnes later married Luther “Junior” Brumfield in November of 1969 in Pampa. He passed away in 2019, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. They owned and operated a laundromat for several

years, but most of her life she was a wonderful homemaker. Agnes was a member of Briarwood Church for many years and later moved her membership to Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting. In her 80s, she and Junior made many lap robes for the “elderly” to help keep them warm. Agnes loved conversation and was willing to share what was on her mind. She loved her family and will be missed by many who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alvin Forrest; two sisters, Ruby Risley and Edna Richardson; and a grandson, Brian Scott Flowers.

Survivors include her two sons, Tim Flowers and wife Beverlee of Miami and Jim Flowers and partner Diana Kasson of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; daughter, Jo Lynn Rowland of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Mindee Thweatt and husband David, Ashlee Flowers and husband Steve Dauer, Lorie Gomez and husband Rick, and Angie Erickson and husband Mark; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; Junior’s son-in-law, Eddy Murphy; Junior’s grandchildren, Stacy Murphy, Stephanie Murphy Jackson, and Dallas Brumfield and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews that have remained a part of her life.

Memorials can be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, TX 79065.
