Gary Ward Western Art

We had a delightful crowd of over 40 attendees arrive for Gary Ward’s grand-opening reception on Tuesday. Gary and his wife, Lisa, are a charming team, and a good time was held by all. Gary has 50 pieces of exquisite Western-themed paintings and sculptures on display in our gallery room. Gary has participated in several shows recently, including the American Plains Artists show at the Pearce Museum in Corsicana; the Western Artists Roundup at the Frontier Times Museum in Bandera; and the Texas Cowboy Reunion Art Show at the John Selmon Memorial Gallery in Stamford. His sculpture, “A Good Day for a Hanging” was awarded the Clyde Heron Award by the Association of Public Art for the most accurately rendered artwork of a historical subject. That sculpture is on display here! We are thrilled to have such an accomplished artist showing at the museum. If you missed the reception, don’t worry, you will have another chance to meet Gary in November for his luncheon presentation. In the meantime, come by the museum to view his work.

Volunteers and Membership

Appreciation Luncheon

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the museum will host its annual Volunteer and Membership Appreciation Luncheon. If you received your postcard, please call and RSVP as soon as possible. Seating is limited.

Whodunit?

The Canadian Arts Alliance volunteer cast is hard at work rehearsing and polishing their performances. Two shows are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, and one matinee show on Sunday, Oct. 13. The performances will be held here at the museum. Tickets will go on sale soon.

Annual Quilt Show

It’s almost that time of year again, the Fall Foliage Featival! The annual Quilt Show is one of our most popular events. If you have a quilt hidden away in a trunk or closet, give it some love and put it on display. For more information, contact me at 806.323.6548.
