Stan Lee’s superhero was definitely far from home when he appeared—for lack of anything more closely resembling a skyscraper—atop the Palace Theatre Saturday morning. He perched there, somewhat precipitously, enjoying a box of popcorn and a drink from the concession stand, and waving to passersby. We’ve been alerted to other Spider-Man sightings since, including a visit to Brown Bag Coffee Roasters later that afternoon. Street talk is that he’ll be around for a special midnight showing of his latest film, Far From Home, at 12:01 am on Tuesday, July 2. Theatre proprietor Ray Weeks informed us at midweek that Borger artist Greg Harms will make an appearance, as well, at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 5. Harms will be selling (and signing) his artwork and graphic novels, and has produced some limited edition commemorative Palace Theatre prints (shown at left and on Instagram @ghosthillgh) that will be available for purchase at the theatre that evening, too. It’s all happening in downtown Canadian this July 4th weekend.
