Body

Citizens of Hemphill County, Texas:

It has been my honor to serve as your Sheriff for the past 4 years.  I would like to announce my intention to run for a second term as your Sheriff.  We have put a great deal of effort into improving how we serve the citizens of Hemphill County, and I would like to continue that work.  I am greatly humbled and honored to have been entrusted with running your Sheriff’s Office the past four years.

We have improved working relationships with our County and District Attorneys, Texas DPS, Texas Rangers, as well as our neighboring agencies.  We have made improvements in the jail, which have included video visitation and online banking for inmates. These more efficient systems have increased the Inmate Commissary Account, which is used for expenditures for inmates, resulting in a cost savings for the County.  Every year we have been fiscally responsible, returning unspent budget money to the County.

I use the word “we” because I did not make these improvements by myself.  None of it would have been possible without the continual hard work of the Sheriff’s Office Deputies and staff as well as the staff in the Hemphill County Jail.

I respectfully and humbly ask for your continued support and your vote in the 2024 election.

Thank you,

Sheriff Brent Clapp
