Hemphill County Hospital District officials announced yesterday that COVID-19 testing results for Abraham Nursing Home staff and residents were all negative. A total of 89 tests were administered to 32 residents and 57 employees, including support staff such as EMS personnel. “We could not be happier to report that all test results were negative,” said HCH CEO Christy Francis.

“Medicare is developing guidelines for reopening nursing homes across the state and nation, and we will closely monitor these developments,” said Francis. “In the meantime, we will continue to be diligent in our efforts to keep every resident safe and healthy, and look forward to the opportunity to reunite families with their loved ones. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of the nursing home staff in caring for its residents. We thank each of them for placing the health and safety of each resident as their number one priority during this pandemic. Our staff is truly one of a kind.”
