Hemphill County Hospital District received results of 21 new positive COVID-19 cases in this county during the last seven days. During that same period, 47 new confirmed positive tests were reported by the HCH lab in noncounty residents.

Among those new positives were three staff members at the Edward Abraham Nursing Home, and one staff member at Mesa View Assisted Living.

At midweek, there were four COVID-related hospitalizations at HCH, which reported one discharge and no new admissions in the last 24-hours. As a result of yesterday’s new cases, the total overall numbers are 268 total positive tests in Hemphill County, 58 of which are active, and 244 positive tests in other counties, of which 102 are considered active.

In a report posted on Monday, the Hemphill County Hospital warned that the number of active cases in this county had risen in only six days by 22 new positives. “Over the last 45 days, Hemphill County has consistently maintained well over 20 active case numbers,” the report noted, reminding the public once again that wearing masks is strongly encouraged to help stop the spread of COVID-19 here.
