One of the items on the agenda of the Monday, April 10, meeting of the Hemphill County Commissioners Court was the Presentation of Resolution to Canadian Record Editor Laurie Ezzell Brown. RESOLUTION

Appreciation to The Canadian Record

                WHEREAS, The Canadian Record has provided fair and accurate reporting of the Hemphill County Commissioners Court meetings, all other public meetings and community events by Ben Ezzell beginning in 1948; and,

                WHEREAS, Laurie Ezzell Brown took over as Editor of The Canadian Record in 1993 and began covering the Hemphill County Commissioners Court meetings in the same fair and comprehensive manner as her father; and,

                WHEREAS, Ben, Nan and Laurie Ezzell Brown reported news and events in Canadian and Hemphill County for 75 years, keeping residents informed and connected to each other, our community, and the world.

                NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Hemphill County Commissioners Court expresses their deep appreciation for the immense contribution made by the Ezzell Family and The Canadian Record for many years. Our community is better for it.
