Commissioners approach new budget cycle with higher property values offset by rising costs
County commissioners this month got the first look at their estimated net taxable property values for the 2022-23 fiscal year, and the news was welcome. Hemphill County’s values have risen an estimated $1.2 million over last year’s rate.
Those estimates are preliminary and will change when the tax appraisal protest period is over and any adjustments are made.
