Canadian Lady Cats grabs lead in fifth inning to defeat Dimmitt

Canadian Lady Cats stole the lead late in the game in an 8-4 home field victory over Dimmitt Varsity Bobbies on Saturday, March 25. The game was tied at four with Canadian Lady Cats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Miranda Nunez singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Leah Moreno led the Lady Cats to victory by driving in four runs. Moreno went 2-for-3 at the plate, and drove in runs on a homer in the third and a double in the fifth.

Moreno was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cats. The right-hander surrendered four runs on five hits over five innings, striking out ten and walking one.

Julia LaRue took the loss for Dimmitt Varsity Bobbies, allowing seven hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Canadian Lady Cats hit one home run on the day. Moreno went for the long ball in the third inning.

The Lady Cats tallied seven hits. Nunez and Moreno each had multiple hits for Canadian Lady Cats. Moreno and Nunez each collected two hits to lead Canadian Lady Cats.

UP NEXT: Canadian's Lady Cats will host Bushland here on Friday. The opening pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
