Saturday, September 16, will be an exciting day as the Carson County Square House Museum in Panhandle celebrates its 58th annual Museum Day.

Those planning a reunion can reserve tables for the barbeque by calling the museum at 806.537.3524. The Alumni Coffee will be held in the public library starting at 9:30 until 11 am, serving coffee and goodies.

The Barbeque will be set up at the Ag Building in Panhandle from 11 am to 1 pm, for dining in and fellowship—or you can have takeout. It will be on a donation basis again this year. The Country Store will be well stocked with homemade baked items, canned goods, and plants to purchase. Pink Dahlia Street Market, New Look/Button, Bows and Balloons Boutique on Hwy 207, Dixon Creek Boutique, and Sinclair Boots will also have sales.

The CC Choralairs will perform at 1 pm in the Hazlewood Auditorium at the Museum Complex. Before the performance, there will be an unveiling of the Quanah Parker sculpture made by Jack Hill, who was King Hill’s father. King Hill will be present for the unveiling. The drawing for a quilt, designed and made by Heather Kennedy, will take place during the performance.

This is the second year for the Reverse Raffle that will follow the choir performance. Everyone will enjoy the exhibit of Indian paintings from the museum’s collection, while listening to the choir, and enjoying the reception.

The museum is located at TX Hwy 207 and Fifth Street in Panhandle. Call 806.537.3524 or email shm@squarehousemuseum.org for more information.
