The Rotary Club of Canadian welcomed Shane Harris as new president. Shane and Pat Popham lead the singing pledge and prayer. Victoria Ramos, last year’s exchange student, surprised members with her presence. Vic is in Canadian visiting the Altmiller family. We were all very happy to see her. Kyle Altmiller brought his children, Taylor and Kyler, and Vic as his guests.

Quinn Cook and his parents were also guests today. Quinn will be leaving soon for Germany as an outgoing exchange student. He reported that he had just been to an orientation weekend and had a great time. He has been in touch with his first host family and with his receiving Rotary Club in Germany. We were glad to be able to hear from Quinn before he leaves.

The club also welcomed George Arrington and his son, Mike Arrington. George Arrington has been part of the club since October 1967. One of our major projects is the Fourth of July Duck Race. For many years now, George has volunteered to sell half of the tickets for this duck race. The club wanted to honor him and his service to the club for all of these years.

The meeting was concluded with an informational session about the coming year of service and projects.
