The Canadian River Beach Club is celebrating its 11th Annual Calf Fry, Barbeque, Cookoff, and Beach Party on Saturday, Sept.

28. The event is IBCA-sanctioned and will be set up at the Jones Pavilion.

So far, 20 teams have signed up, according to organizer Lacy Hanes, representing Canadian; Amarillo; Spearman; Higgins; Lubbock; Hereford; Dumas; Perryton; Wheeler; and Red River, New Mexico. Vendors will sell everything from uni-cones, to Pampered Chef products, boutique items, Scentsy, bakery goods, and bling and posh of all kinds.

Hanes says that they are still looking for cook teams, vendors, and sponsors. If sponsors want recognition on banners, the deadline is Friday, Sept. 20, at noon. The entry deadline for teams and vendors is Monday, Sept. 23, at a cost of $50 for booth fees, and $200 for team entry fees.

“We have a great lineup of events throughout the day,” said Hanes, “and some great bands, Kody West and special guest, Tanner Fenoglia, to enjoy that evening.” The Beach Club and its volunteers hope to benefit local charities as they have done every year.

That Saturday, the fun begins at 9 am. To go through the Pavilion and grounds where the cookers are placed, the cost is $20 for adults; $10 for kids, ages 6-17; and free for kids 5 and under. There are bouncy houses for the kiddos, a craft show, and food samples.
