Patti Beard, 57, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

A celebration of Patti’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 25, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Minister Sherye Talley, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

USN AVCM Ret. Aurelio G. Garcia, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud Veteran of the United States Navy, went Home to the Almighty Father from natural causes. He was surrounded by his daughter Debra and son-in-law Lonnie Cross.

Aurelio, 94, was known by friends as “Joe” and by family and close friends as “Grelie.” He was born in Cuyler, Texas to Jose and Angela Garcia.

Leslie Kirk Courson was born on August 28, 1956 in Pampa, Texas to Harold Courson and Joyce (Denny) Doran. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School and The University of Texas in Austin. He spent as much time honing his water-skiing talents and perfecting his skills on the skeet and trap range as he did on campus. Adulthood was calling, so he left Austin, donned a suit and tie and went to work for Courson Oil & Gas in 1984, where he remained until his death operating multiple oil and gas companies.

OBITUARY: (Arlen) Dean Looper

(Arlen) Dean Looper, 83, died on June 23, 2024, from pancreatic cancer in Pampa, Texas. He wasn’t born in Texas but he darn sure made sure he died there.

He was born in Denver, Colorado, to Bill and Jane and was raised by a committee of relatives including his uncle JD and his Mammie. He was raised in Seattle and lived all over the world. But his love was for the Panhandle of Texas, where his people came from.
