The Postscript: A Letter to Krissy

Body
A COUPLE OF DAYS ago, a friend of mine posted something written by a friend of his on Facebook. This is what she had to say: “I’ve been contemplating what I really miss in life. Why do I feel this empty space? I have not felt completely full in a very long time. I miss the outdoors… a good hike, fishing or camping. No radio, cellphone, TV, movies, or internet. Just the birds, the river running…just the sound of crickets.

Tanya Holloway presents report on Ogallala Commons

Body
Future Rotary president, Janet Guthrie, stepped into big shoes and led the Dec. 20 meeting, the singing and pledge, and offered a prayer to kick off our meeting. She proceeded to enlighten us on the upcoming 88th regular legislative session, which begins on Jan. 10, and the timing and process that bills go through before only a few become laws. She warned us that “what happens in Austin does and will affect each and every one of us, so be informed, it matters!”

What's Cookin' in Canadian: Venison Irish Stew

Body

If you have a hunter in the family, chances are you now have deer meat in the freezer. Here’s a delicious stew recipe that I saved years ago from the “San Antonio Express-News” cooking column. I promise you, it will have folks begging for seconds. It’s equally good with beef, too.

The Postscript: Recipe for Christmas

Body

I DON’T CONSIDER MYSELF a person bound by tradition.

Usually, I’m all about change, encouraging people to change and looking for ways to change myself. I generally think that new experiences make life both more memorable and meaningful.

Except for Christmas. I want Christmas to remain exactly the same.

Quantum Healing System

Body

Our own member, Sheri Hensley, presented a program on the Quantum Healing System (QHS) this week. She is one of the “early adopters” of a new technology, dubbed QTWave, and she is participating in a proof of concept study for the Quantum healing device.

The technology was first discovered by Nikola Tesla in the late 1800s. It has been continually worked on and improved for the last 100 years by teams of doctors who have landed on the current Quantum Healing System described here.
