On Tuesday, April 6, Miami ISD Superintendent Donna Hale released a statement in response to inquiries regarding the recent indictments and arrests of three MHS students. The students—Tanner Cummings Miller, Rance Ely Moreno, and Tristen Leo Douglas—face multiple felony charges, ranging from indecency with a child with sexual contact and sexual assault of a child, to sexual assault and aggravated assault causing bodily injury.

More than a year after it was first planned, “Restoring the Roots,” the Hemphill County Texas A&M AgriLife Beef Cattle Conference, is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 27-28. Andy Holloway, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural-resources agent for Hemphill County, said the annual conference will return after COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the original event last April and of the rescheduled event in September.
