Statewide advocates launch arts education campaign

A group of arts education advocates today announced the formation of a statewide advocacy and grassroots campaign—the Texas Arts Education Campaign (TAEC) txartsed.org. TAEC will educate Texas voters and lawmakers on the importance of fine arts (music, art, theatre, and dance) in preparing K-12 students.

CHS tennis serves aces at Amarillo High

Canadian’s tennis players took on schools, both big and small, at Amarillo ISD’s tournament Saturday with success, while gaining valuable experience against tough opponents. In Bracket A action: The duo of Hayze Hufstedler and Everett Hadaway won two matches, defeating Allen/Langford from Pampa 8-5 for the boys-doubles’ consolation medal.
