As it has each year for the last 13 years, the Canadian River Beach Club presented checks to four local organizations, disbursing a total of $7,500 brought in through its annual fundraising events. CRBC member Ben Riverman announced that this year’s donations were made to: •The Canadian Community Center for its scholarship fund and after-school program, in the amount of $3,500.

In the warm up to district play, which begins on Jan. 7, Canadian’s Lady Cats are taking nothing for granted. They have now played four No. 1-ranked teams in various classifications, and have beaten all four. The most recent was the Sands Mustangs, ranked first in Class 1A—whom they met on neutral ground in Nazareth.

The Canadian Arts Alliance hosted their annual Christmas Concert at the CMS Auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 12. Music teachers Amy Carter, Dana Cook, and Betty Bynum, as well as an appreciative audience, listened to students perform holiday favorites. Special guest artist Alex Moreno played the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and a group of over 20 students played “Jingle Bells.” Robin King and Angie Hawkins served refreshments during intermission.
