Canadian High School freshman Chaynee Slavin has qualified for the 2022 National Junior High Finals Rodeo, which will be held June 19-25, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia. Slavin advanced to the national competition after finishing the year third overall in breakaway roping and poles in the Oklahoma Junior High School Rodeo Association finals.

A public statement issued by Klein Investigations and Consulting last Thursday suggested that a suspect had been identified in the May 27 vandalism of the Justice for Thomas Brown sign on Main Street.

The Children’s Fishing Tournament, hosted by the Wolf Creek Improvement Board, brought 190 kids to Lake Fryer on Saturday, June 4. Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Minick, a Canadian native, enlisted in the United States Navy as a nuclear machinist mate in November of 2000. After completing the enlisted nuclear pipeline, he was selected as a junior staff instructor at Nuclear Power Unit MTS 626 in Charleston, South Carolina.
