What's Cookin' in Canadian: Cilantro Lime Chicken

Body
My neighbor Peggy brought me two bags of freshly picked cilantro from her garden. I had chicken thighs already thawed for dinner, so this recipe I found on www.budgetbytess.com was perfect. My chicken was bone-in, so I adjusted the cooking time a bit. It was easy, quick, and shone with the bright tastes of summer. Enjoy!

Trooper Heath Prater

Body
Sarah Rader recently heard a law enforcement officer interviewed about his work on the Mexico border. Surprised that troopers were free to talk about those experiences and observations, she invited State Trooper Heath Prater to visit the Rotary Club’s June 28 meeting.

Chloe Walser

Body
Rotarian Curt McPherson introduced our guest speaker, Chloe Walser, who is a former CISD standout and spring 2022 Texas Tech graduate with a BFA in graphic design. Many of us experienced her graphic design talents at the recent Canadian River Music Festival as she designed most of the posters, t-shirts, and stickers. However, Walser came to speak about another topic that she is very enthusiastic about—her future in student ministry.

Over 40 entries participated in Canadian’s Annual 4th of July Parade, not counting the many firetrucks and emergency vehicles that began the procession with sirens blasting. Young and old gathered along the parade route in their best red, white, and blue to watch this year’s “Proud to be an American” themed floats and entries.
