An insect species which can evoke childhood memories is in trouble and has just been added to the Red List of Threatened Species compiled by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.

Sheila and Fred Pankratz finally took their long-awaited trip to Canada. It had been planned for their 50th anniversary but had been postponed because of COVID.

In their July 19 meeting, the Canadian ISD board of trustees reviewed teacher salary schedules and compared them with the pay scale in other area school districts. The study revealed that this district’s salaries are no longer at the top of the pay scale, increasing the potential difficulty of filling staff vacancies in an increasingly competitive market.
