This Saturday, Dec. 3, Abi Black (CHS Class of 2021) will be marching with the Purdue All-American Band at the Big Ten Conference Championship in Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium. This will be Purdue's first appearance in the conference championship, and another career highlight for Canadian's talented trumpet player.

A sweet start for Panhandle Gives

A second batch of batter was needed at Monday night’s well-attended kick-off for The Panhandle Gives. The seven charities participating in this enhancement program by the Amarillo Area Foundation will be eligible for additional funding based on all donations raised through Nov. 29.

Among the local nonprofit organizations participating in The Panhandle Gives—and highlighted in last week’s Record report—are the Citadelle Art Foundation, Edward Abraham Memorial Home Foundation, Canadian River Art, River Valley Pioneer Museum, Canadian Community Center, and Rachel’s Little House.

For an unprecedented 11th straight year, the Canadian Wildcat football team will play on Thanksgiving weekend.

In a stiff test against the Early Longhorns, Canadian was able to pull away, getting a hard-fought 42-14 win in the Class 3A Division II area round at Vernon’s Lion Stadium last Friday night.
