CHS blood drive collects 43 lifesaving donations Monday

Forty-three blood donations were collected during Canadian High School’s annual blood drive on Monday, Jan. 16—enough blood to help save 129 lives. When asked why she wanted to hold the blood drive on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Health Science teacher Rosemary Koetting said, “Because what better way to give back and serve than by donating blood?”

Wildcat quarterback Camren Cavalier honored at Built Ford Tough banquet

Though the high school football season has been in the books for over a month, it hasn’t stopped Canadian quarterback Camren Cavalier from getting very well-deserved acknowledgment. Last Saturday, the District 3-3A Division II MVP and 2022 Press Pass Sports Player of the Year was in Frisco at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility, better known as “The Star,” as a finalist for the Built Ford Tough Class 3A Player of the Year.

Hemphill County Library check-in

The Hemphill County Library has quite the year! With astounding program turnouts and new staff additions, the library has done well. The library checked out 17,449 items from October 2021 to September 2022 (their fiscal year).
