It’s been a busy week for us! On Sunday, we held a fundraiser at the Palace Theatre (thank you Ray and Natalie!) and played the movie Tombstone for donations. We were graced with the presence of around 30 people who came to support us!

If anyone is to follow Ike Julian’s classification speech, Wendy Wright is the one to do it. She has also led a unique life and we will go ahead and get it said that Canadian is lucky to have her! Having moved three times to very different locations before she 14—from West Covina, California, to Cleburne, Texas, to Little Rock, Arkansas— Wendy experienced much that helped shape who she is today.

From Mosul to Main Street: How RVPM Director Wendy Wright came to Canadian, Texas

Body
Born in West Covina, California, Wendy Wright’s family relocated to Texas by the time she was 3 years old. Wendy’s father was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a pipe fitter and had accepted a position in Cleburne. When she was 12, the shop that employed her father closed. Facing unemployment, Wendy’s father signed on with the Union Pacific Railroad, and she, and her father and stepmother, relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas.
