Ruby Caroline Shelton Jones, 77, of Amarillo, died June 23, 2019. Services were held at 10 am on Thursday, June 27, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Graveside services followed at 3 pm at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors in Amarillo.

Ruby “Caroline” Jones was born on Jan. 7, 1942, at Lelia Lake to Ralph Wayne Shelton and Minnie Seymour Shelton. She attended Samnorwood and Shamrock schools. She graduated from Frank Phillips College with a degree in nursing. She worked in Canadian for several years. She worked for the State of Texas as an LVN. She retired from Bill Clements in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She loved to sew for her family and friends.

Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald T. Jones, 2007; her sons, James Lee Smith, 1995, and David Wayne Smith, 2013; her brother, Ralph Marion Shelton; sister-in-law, Marie Shelton; and her parents.

Caroline is survived by her son, Philip Ray Smith of Amarillo; sisters, Christene Copple and Eileen Hicks; grandchildren, Travis, Alicia, Dusty, Ruby, Ann, and Margaret; and greatgrandchildren, Katrina, Veronica, Cierra, Tiffany, Dustie, and Beckett.
