Donnie Ray Morrow was born in Levelland on August 8, 1954, and died in Lubbock on November 2, 2023.

His birth parents were Garland Morrow and Helen Nickels Morrow. His parents by choice were Larry Sanders and Natalie Hutton Sanders.

Most of Donnie's childhood was spent in Perryton and Canadian. He graduated from Canadian High School. He attended college and played football at Western State in Gunnison, Colorado. He later completed a vocational program at South Plains College in Levelland.

Donnie married Janeal Flathers in 1978. After completion of both of their educations, they moved to Perryton. Donnie was employed by Courson Oil & Gas. In 1984, a son, Matt K. Morrow was born.

Later, Donnie married Denise Pulliam-Carroll in Perryton. From the marriage, he had two stepsons, Nicholas and Christopher Carroll. Donnie worked many years in Perryton in the oil field industry.

He always had a desire to return to his hometown of Canadian. He married Shirley Sanders in Canadian and began his own oilfield contract company. From this marriage, he had a stepdaughter, Kris Ward. Donnie had a great love for his hometown, especially Canadian Wildcat football. He loved that his son also played as a Canadian Wildcat.

Donnie's life changed forever in 2008, with health issues after he had a massive stroke. Of late, Donnie lived in Lubbock to be close to his son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. He lived in Lubbock for the remainder of his days, when he peacefully went to sleep on November 2, 2023.

Donnie is survived by his son, Matt Morrow, and wife Lindsey of Lubbock, and two grandchildren, Maddie and Conner Morrow; his two brothers, Bill Sanders and wife Lala of Inverness, Florida, and Ben Sanders of Amarillo; his two nieces, Shayla Sanders of Chickasha, and Holly Sanders Hamilton and husband, Jimmy of Yukon, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents by choice, Larry and Natalie Sanders and his aunt and uncle, E. G. Sanders and Nadine Sanders.
