NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING: Canadian’s City Council will meet at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to receive public comment on the proposed renovation of City Hall, alternative sites, and a possible bond election. The meeting will be held in the City Hall Auditorium.
Municipal trash collection rates will increase this spring, following a decision by Canadian’s City Council this month, and their adoption of an ordinance establishing new monthly base rate charges. The rate hike is the first in two years.

The Hemphill County Hospital District now has a new member on its board of directors: Whitney Jones. Jones won 66 votes in Saturday’s election, over current board member Jesse Hanes’s 48. Cory Pittman received 99 votes and Colby Leach, 104.
The City Council and CISD Board elections were both cancelled due to the lack of contested races.
