RRC reports oil and gas production stats for June 2020

AUSTIN—Crude-oil and naturalgas production as reported to the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) for June 2020 came from 173,549 oil wells and 86,037 gas wells. The RRC notes that from July 2019 to June 2020, total Texas reported production was 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil and 10.5 trillion cubic feet of total gas.

AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this week said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.98 billion in July, 4.3 percent more than in July 2019. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.

USDA designates 10 Texas counties as natural disaster areas

WASHINGTON—Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue designated 10 Texas counties as primary natural disaster areas. Producers in Carson, Gaines, Hutchinson, Moore, Oldham, Potter, Roberts, Sherman, Terry, and Yoakum counties who suffered losses due to recent drought may be eligible for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans.
