A rafter of wild turkeys found camouflage and meager shelter from Tuesday morning’s cold, wet snow, in this thicket of trees on Lake Marvin Road.

Snowfall totals ranged from 1-2 inches in the central part of the Texas Panhandle, to much heavier measurements, ranging from 3-8 inches in the northwestern and eastern Texas Panhandle and in much of the Oklahoma Panhandle.

As beautiful as it was, it was fleeting here in Hemphill County, melting quickly and enriching the soil with welcome moisture.
