OBITUARY: Eva ‘Darlene’ Eads

Eva “Darlene” Eads (MeMo), 76, of Pampa, was born July 6, 1948 in Canadian, Texas, to Carl Thomas and Eva Marie Hornback. She was welcomed into her Lord and Savior’s arms on February 27, 2025, in Pampa.

Services will be held at 10 am on March 4, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Jim Sinyard officiating, assisted by Austin Hayden. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-7:30 pm.

Voucher bill has backing of House majority

A slim majority of Texas House members have indicated they will back House Bill 3, which creates education savings accounts that allow families to use taxpayer money for private school education. The Dallas Morning News reported that 75 Republican legislators have signed on with the bill’s author, state Rep. Brad Buckley, R-Salado, to support the measure.
