The Canadian Wildcats (11-1) will face the Idalou Wildcats (9-3) in today’s Regional Semifinal round of the 2025 UIL Texas Football State Championships. Game time is 2 pm at Amarillo’s Dick Bivins Stadium. It is, according to Press Pass Sports, the fourth meeting in the last five years between these two historic rivals, and should be one well worth the drive. 

The victor will take on the winner of the Slaton Tigers (10-2) vs the undefeated Wall Hawks (12-0) game, in the State Quarterfinals. That matchup is being held on Slaton’s home turf at 1 pm today.

The Wildcat Pick ‘Em contest is now in a dead heat between Charlie Mann and Tommy Wyatt, who collected his fifth Pick ‘Em gold star following last week’s Canadian vs Coahoma bout. Blake Beedy is still in the mix with four stars. Shane  Sawyer, with only one star, could still be the spoiler. 

Amarillo’s National Weather Service is predicting moderate temperatures today, with highs in the 50s to low 60s across the Panhandle, cloudy skies, and winds gusting to 30-40 mph out of the south.
