Fishing Tourney marks another banner year at Lake Fryer

The annual Children’s Fishing Tournament held June 1 at Lake Fryer attracted 137 entries this year. April Snyder, member of the Wolf Creek Advisory Committee, said 16 adult volunteers and several youth volunteers helped with the event.

Game Wardens who judged the tournament were: Jeremy Schwalk from Ochiltree and Hansford Counties; Lance Lindley from Wheeler and Collingworth Counties; AJ Meyer from Sherman and Moore Counties; Kyle Deaton from Lipscomb and Hemphill Counties; Frank Neimic from Potter and Randall Counties; and Coby Sanders from Roberts and Gray Counties.

Winners in the 3 to 6 years old division were: 1st - Jesus Salazar; 2nd - Emmalyn Lamb; 3rd - Granger Mills

Winners in the 7 to 10 year old division were: 1st - Slade Savard; 2nd - Christian Shipley; 3rd - Carson Barkley

Winners in the 11 to 14 year old division were: 1st - Khole Scott; 2nd - Autumn Gonzales; 3rd - Annalise Cotta

Individual winners were:

Farthest traveled: Zoe & Luke Cotta from Fort Smith, Arkansas

Most Unusual Item Fished from the Lake: Joel Gonzales with an anchor

1st Turtle:  Lilly Kile

Ugliest Fish:  Aiden Lamb

Biggest Turtle:  Kenzington Anderson

Largest Fish:  Slade Savard
