Winter weather packs a wallop

Body
From torrential rains, threatening tornados and hail that turned the lights out Saturday evening... to heavy, wet snow and gale-force winds that created white-out blizzard conditions and knocked the power lines down on Wednesday....all that, with a balmy 80-degree day, under picnic-weather skies thrown in to keep hope alive. Life in the Texas Panhandle never was meant for the faint of heart...and it’s pretty tough, for that matter, on daffodils (photo by Robin Mitchell on facing page).

Rusted and rotting outdoor staircases at the Canadian Apartments are just one indication of the public danger the unsecured property poses
