DSHS gets nearly 15,000 monkeypox vaccines The Texas Department of State Health Services has received and distributed 14,780 doses of the monkeypox vaccine to local health departments and DSHS regional offices. Another 27,000 doses could be made available by the Strategic National Stockpile.

The Canadian Community Center would like to send out a BIG thanks to everyone who came out and got a taco plate at our taco pile-on fundraiser on the 4th of July! We would like to thank the Canadian Volunteer Fire Department for their quick response and expertise in putting out the fire on our property east of Canadian on the 4th of July. They are always ready and always willing, and we are forever grateful!

Kit Looper, 84, died June 14, 2022, at her home in Hines, Minnesota. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Comptroller releases broadband plan State Comptroller Glenn Hegar last week released his agency’s plan to support the expansion of broadband internet access to areas with limited or no access. Hegar and his agency’s Broadband Development Office received feedback through a series of town halls, virtual discussions, and more than 16,000 responses to a survey.
