Basketball Camp

Body
The Canadian Lady Cat and Wildcat junior varsity and varsity coaches wasted little time getting their teams back into action, by hosting team camps over the last two Fridays and scheduling round robin play with visiting teams from Pampa, Borger, and Gruver. Canadian boys head basketball coach Brandon Wall told sportswriter Kale Steed he enjoyed seeing his teams hit the court again. “We didn’t get to do this last year,” Wall said, “so it really gave us a chance to work on ourselves and improve. Right now, with this time we have playing in these camps gives us a chance to improve on our weaknesses.” Shown in photos above are Samantha Krehbiel, Berkleigh Beedy, Jake Krehbiel and Julian Dominguez. Canadian Elementary School second-graders participated in the CES Running Club again this year. As club members, the students have 35 minutes to run, walk, or jog the track for a total of 780 minutes throughout the year. Second-graders are asked to set a goal for themselves and to reevaluate that goal as needed. All the second-graders did a fantastic job, with a total of 1,438 miles. This year’s 50-milers are Paris Lee, Liza Cooper, Breven Aldana, and Wyatt Longoria. PHOTO PROVIDED BY MONICA BRYANT
