LT. COL. PEDRO ‘PETE’ S. PARRA

Lt. Col. Pedro (‘Pete’) S. Parra (USAF, Ret.) died on January 14, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Richard Parra and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Parra, both of Dallas. He is also survived by a sister, Ramona Parra, of Amarillo, and a brother, Bernardo Parra, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters. Pete has numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States and abroad.

Alex Macias, 93, well-known Guymon businessman, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, 2021, at his home. Rosary services were held on Jan. 8 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held Saturday morning, Jan. 9, at 9 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Jerome Krug, celebrant. Interment followed at 1 pm at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with Father Michael Colwell officiating. Services were under the care of the Bunch- Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Herbert F. Boles, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, departed this world on Dec. 11, 2020, to be reunited with his dearly departed wife, Norma Jean Hubbard Boles. “Bud,” as he was known by many, was born in Canadian on Dec. 29, 1926, to Floyd Boles and Sybil Henderson Boles and passed away in Midland.

Charles W. Heusel, son of Ralph W. Heusel and longtime vocational-agriculture teacher, has gone hunting. His graveside service will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

Catherine “Cathe” Hinojosa Pow-ledge, 50, of Allison, left us to be with the Lord on Christmas Day 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas. Graveside services are still pending at Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe with Rev. Matt Gary officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
