Celebrating Constitution Week

Body
In 1955, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress with a resolution, which was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on Aug. 2, 1956. Since that time, Constitution Week (Sept. 17-23) has been observed as a time to celebrate the foundation of the American form of government. On Sept. 18, members of Canadian’s Comancheria Chapter, NSDAR, attended the Constitution Week Luncheon in Amarillo, hosted by the Esther McCrory Chapter, NSDAR. WTAMU history professor Dr. Timothy Bowman spoke on the “200th Anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail.” Pictured above are Comancheria Chapter members Jeri Pundt, Pam Hill, Chuck Hartline, Phoebe Hartline, Marilee Wright, Deborah Dickinson, and Shawna Ditmore.
