After a rough start to district play, the Canadian Wildcats finally broke through by holding off Dalhart in a 31-28 battle Tuesday night at home. It didn’t come easy by any means.

Amarillo CPA Mark Kile delivered the district’s 2020-21 financial audit during their Jan. 13 meeting, pronouncing Canadian ISD in good shape financially.

Candidate filing began last Wednesday, Jan. 19, for candidates seeking a place on the ballot in the May 7 city council, and hospital, school, and water district board elections.

This month, the Texas’ COVID-19 positivity rate—the percentage of tests with positive results—soared to its highest peak yet amid the onset of the highly transmissible omicron variant. With the most recent surge in cases came a renewed reliance on testing.
