Texas employment at historic high, but jobless rate is up
For the 30th consecutive month Texas showed job growth, reaching just under 14 million jobs and outpacing the nation in its annual rate of employment growth, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
As we enter the cold and flu illness season, Texas physicians warn there are three viruses lurking in the air–the influenza virus that causes the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Physicians say the best way to say safe–especially for those at greatest risk of severe illness–is to vaccinate against all three.
AUSTIN—From Oct. 6-22, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will kick off the eighth annual Texas Pollinator BioBlitz, celebrating the bees, wasps, butterflies, moths, beetles, flies, hummingbirds, nectar-feeding bats, and other animals that serve as pollinators across Texas.
Join event partners TPWD, National Butterfly Center, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, National Wildlife Federation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to celebrate the importance of pollinators.
