PORT LAVACA — Orla Boyde Curnutt, 88, of Port Lavaca, passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Canadian, Texas, to the late Orla Hezekiah and Marie Elizabeth Curnutt.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Curnutt; daughter, Deanne Weise (Rev. Keith R. Weise); and son, Greg Curnutt. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Joyce Givhan and Betty Karen Eggleston.
Jean Arnold Martindale, 87, of Pampa, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, peacefully with his family by his side,
Memorial services will be 10 am, Tuesday, October 31, at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Mark Lang, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Hemphill County residents are invited to join the members of American Legion Zybach-Owens Post 56 on Monday, November 6, for an introductory meeting to learn about plans for the inaugural presentation of Canadian’s Bridge of Honor.
The public meeting will be held at the River Valley Pioneer Museum. All are welcome, and food will be provided.
