Learn about the life stories, struggles and triumphs of settlers in the Texas Panhandle brought to life by our talented cast and crew.

Alex Moreno returns to the Canadian stage for Saturday concert at the Texas Crown

Musician/Composer Alex Moreno will perform a solo piano recital this Saturday, July 8, at 6 pm, at the Texas Crown Performance Hall. Admission is free, but contributions will be gratefully accepted.

On the program will be pieces by Chopin, Ravel, Gershwin, Milhaud, Mendelssohn, Grieg, Coleridge-Taylor, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff.

Stars & Stripes for Mesa View Senior Living residents

The Mesa View Senior Living residents had prime real estate to view the 2023 Stars & Stripes Parade. They sat in the shade of a tent at the Sixth Street home of Brandon and Kellie Reeves, right on the parade route. Residents enjoying the show were Jack Gill, Billy Ratliff, Eva Timmons, Joyce Cross, Mary Loe Hous, Bruce Content and Rudy Sias.

This summer’s GO! Weekend shifts focus to Perryton recovery

The Canadian Church of Christ’s traditional GO! Weekend—now in its eighth year of community-wide clean-up projects here—is packing up the shovels and work gloves and heading up US 83 this year to help the tornado-stricken town of Perryton. The date that was set for Canadian’s GO! Weekend—Saturday, July 22—has now been dedicated to Perryton’s recovery.

Saddle up for a great piece of history during the 4th at River Valley Pioneer Museum

River Valley Pioneer Museum Director Tamera Julian decided a saddle exhibit would be the ticket for this year’s July 4th celebration. She had noticed last year that rodeo cowboys and their families from all over were among the visitors the museum attracted during the weekend of activities in Canadian.

Boots & Badges Community Blood Drive set for July 13

Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo will host the Boots & Badges Canadian Community Blood Drive on Thursday, July 13, 1-6 pm, at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.

Donors will receive a Boots & Badges t-shirt and one WOW Pass to Wonderland Amusement Park.

Photo ID is required. You must be at least 17 years old to donate. Donors that are 16 may donate with a signed parental consent form.

Amarillo Museum of Art Presents Hayden Pedigo Live

In conjunction with the release of his sixth studio album (the second from the independent record label Mexican Summer), Hayden Pedigo will perform in his native Amarillo. The 28-year-old performance artist, politician, model and fingerstyling maestro whose talent is as irrepressible as it is undeniable, will take the stage at the Amarillo College Concert Hall Theater, adjacent to the Amarillo Museum of Art, followed by a cocktail reception at AMoA.
