Canadian grads and honor students listed on WTA&MU’s official spring lists

CANYON, Texas — The final tally is 1,110 graduates for West Texas A&M University’s Class of May 2023.

Overall, the University awarded 828 baccalaureate degrees and 289 master’s degrees to spring graduates at the May 13 commencement ceremonies, following procedural confirmation from the University’s seven deans.

The oldest graduate was 66, and the youngest were 18. The graduating class includes 108 with a perfect 4.0 GPA and 81 veterans; 45 percent of the undergraduates are the first in their family to earn a college degree. Students from 37 states in the nation and 26 different countries graduated.

Additionally, 193 potential August graduates walked the stage at the May commencement ceremonies.

Canadian grads were Melody Hood with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education---Summa Cum Laude (3.90-4.00); Cutter Kelton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; Sawyer Landry, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre; Ryan Pinkston, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Industry and Business; and Boston Wood, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

Canadian Students on the President’s List (3.90-4.00) were Reagan Cochran, junior sports/exercise science major; and Arthur Brown, sophomore computer science major. Those on the Dean’s List (overall grade point average of 3.50 to 3.99) were Jeanine Fabbri, senior digital communications and media major; Sam Fry, senior theatre major; Abigail Isom, junior nursing major; Jacob Johnson, senior engineering tech major; and Victor Zafiro, sophomore graphic design major.
