Restoring Canadian’s Historic City Hall, Part 5

Body

WEDNESDAY, July 30, 5:30 pm, Auditorium

Open Meeting to discuss City Hall & Municipal Auditorium project...or others

For me, the JEWEL of this proposed project is reviving the Municipal Auditorium. Those bowstring trusses, the balcony bleachers, a STAGE...!

The intrinsic value of restoring a historic building that bookends a designated MAIN STREET community is immeasurable.

Restoring Canadian’s Historic City Hall

Body

Preface...I have attended a Hemphill County Commissioners meeting and a Canadian City Council meeting in a week's time...

A PURPOSEFUL OPPORTUNITY is here! Citizens of Canadian can restore the HISTORIC City Hall and Auditorium to its original function and grandeur. It is no coincidence that the City Council is comprised of members who are uniquely suited for this project.

Please attend July 30, 5:30 pm meeting at Auditorium. An enhanced virtual tour is coming...

URGENT MESSAGE: Perryton, Texas, Tornado Relief Efforts

Body

Perryton’s Assistant City Manager Colby Waters just reported to The Canadian Record that due to an influx of generous donations from all over the country, the City of Perryton is inundated with provisions and materials that they have no way of handling under the existing difficult conditions created by Thursday’s deadly tornados. Food supplies are particularly difficult to handle because they have no way of storing or cooking those perishables. Power supplies have been compromised, and resources are stretched thin already.
