AMARILLO—Rep. John Smithee, the fourth most senior member of the Texas House of Representatives, filed for re-election to House District 86 yesterday, which is comprised of Armstrong, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Hartley, Oldham, Parmer, and Randall counties.

"I am proud of my record of delivering real results for the people of the Texas Panhandle," remarked Smithee. "I am as committed as ever to our shared conservative values and look forward to continuing to be a voice for the Panhandle in the Texas House."

Rep. Smithee currently sits on the powerful State Affairs Committee, as well as the critically important Juvenile Justice & Family Issues Committee. He has previously served as a chairman for various House committees.

"We are at an extremely important crossroads as a state and nation. Now is the time for steady, principled conservative leadership. I am excited about the campaign ahead and earning the support of the people of House District 86 once again," concluded Smithee.
