CANADIAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES CANDIDATES
HEATH PRATER (LEFT) AND BRADLEY FLYNN (RIGHT)
Heath Prater, Candidate
Canadian Independent School District
Board of Trustees
My name is Heath Prater (photo above left), and I’m proud to be running for a seat on the Canadian ISD School Board. I was born and raised right here in our community, and after 18 years serving in law enforcement, I’ve learned the value of honesty, accountability, and putting people first. My wife and I are raising our son in this same district, and I care deeply about keeping our schools strong for every family who calls this place home.
I believe in the heart of a rural district, where we know each other by name, show up for one another, and make decisions that reflect our small-town values. Our schools are the backbone of our community, and I want to make sure our teachers, administrators, and all support staff have what they need to help students succeed.
As both a public servant and small rancher, I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility and working within our means while still prioritizing what matters most— our kids. I’ll work to keep class sizes small, promote a safe learning environment, and ensure every decision we make reflects what’s best for students and staff alike.
I’m not a politician—I’m a dad, a husband, a rancher, and a community member who cares about our schools and our future. I’d be honored to earn your vote.
Bradley Flynn, Candidate
Canadian Independent School District
Board of Trustees
Hi, I’m Bradley Flynn (photo above right). I am a long-time resident and proud local graduate who believes deeply in the small-town values that make our community special—honesty, hard work, and looking out for one another. I’ve built a career in the oil field, served more than a decade as a volunteer fireman, and supported our local economy as a small business owner. As a parent of two boys—one graduate and one still enrolled—and a spouse to an educator, I am committed to strengthening our schools and supporting the people who dedicate themselves to our students every day.
Through meetings with both of our prior superintendents, I’ve taken time to understand the workings of our district’s budget and financial situation. This experience has reinforced my belief in transparency, integrity, and accountability. I believe our district must continue to prioritize caring for its employees while maintaining responsible financial stewardship for our taxpayers. I am dedicated to doing what is right for our students, staff, and families.
