Sheryl A. Ferguson Hoover, age 81, of Amarillo, passed away on August 29 surrounded by loved ones at home.

Born on June 7, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, Sheryl was the beloved child of Howard and Muriel Ferguson. She grew up in Los Angeles, California, graduated from Westchester High School and later went on to marry WD Hoover and move to Canadian, where they lived out their lives together and have a beautiful daughter named Amber Dawn Hoover.

Sheryl will be remembered for being a loving and caring friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sheryl is survived by daughter Amber Hoover-Wright and her husband Terry Wright of Amarillo, and by her two granddaughters, Acacia Jade Wright of Amarillo; Ceara Skye Veach and husband Devan Joe Veach, and their two daughters Bevyn Aubree and Sloan Freya Veach of Amarillo; and sister Sandra Slavin Gott, sister-in-law Carol Ferguson and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband WD Hoover, grandson Nathaniel Wright, parents Howard and Muriel Ferguson and brother Galen Ferguson. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 2 pm in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 701 Quail Creek Drive, Amarillo. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend and celebrate Sheryl’s life.
