The highly-anticipated rematch between the Canadian Wildcats and the Bushland Falcons finally went down in an epic battle for the District 1-3A Championship. It was worth the price of admission.

In the debut of their second season as an official UIL sport at Canadian High School, the Lady Cat softball team struggled against a more experienced Lady Bobcat squad, but showed notable progress after last week’s back-to-back scrimmages. Next up for the Lady Cats is a road trip tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 21) to Memphis. On Saturday, Feb. 22, Canadian will host Booker for a home game starting at 12 noon, followed by another home game versus Memphis on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 4 pm.

Early voting for all Hemphill County precincts in both the Democratic and Republican primary elections will be conducted on the second floor of Hemphill County Courthouse, in Suite 202. Early ballots may be cast Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, starting Tuesday, Feb. 18, and ending Friday, Feb. 28.
